Public Sessions

Two public consultation sessions will be organized to obtain opinions, comments and potential solutions from the public. These sessions will take place at the following time and place:

-  Wednesday, September 26th, between 7PM and 9PM, South Baymouth Ferry Terminal

-  Thursday, September 27th, between 7PM and 9PM, Tobermory Community Centre

Members of the public are strongly encouraged to participate. An open discussion will follow a short (15 minutes) presentation by CPCS. In order to stimulate an open and frank discussion of issues and solutions, OSTC management will not be present at these sessions. You are invited to consult the official Press Release that was distributed to local medias.

In anticipation of these sessions, we encourage the public to think about the following questions:

In your opinion;

- What factors/changes may have contributed to the decrease in traffic?

- Does the ferry adequately supports tourism in the region?

- Does the ferry adequately serves regional transportation needs?

- What are the strengths and weaknesses of the ferry?

- What markets (currently served or not) could be better served by the ferry?

- What are potential actions/changes that could improve the ferry service to better serve these markets and increase ridership?

- Do you have any other comments/remarks/suggestions that could help us define a better way forward for the ferry?

You can also download the CPCS Background Presentation for those sessions. This material will be presented in the first 15 minutes of each session to provide some basic information on the project. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact the CPCS Project Manager.

We look forward to meeting you in a few weeks.
